I don’t know about you, but every year around this time I crave s’mores. Growing up, summers meant camping. Whether through summer camp, with my dad, or on a friends trip, there was one shared activity: SMORES. The nostalgic ritual of sticking a marshmallow through a stick, holding it over a crackling fire, and prepping the graham cracker and chocolate will always be a favorite. I carried patience with teh marshmallow so that it woud be soft and gooey throughout, caramelized on the crust. That first bite of smores was always the best.
I dont go camping much anymore but the yearning for smores hasnt gone away. This is the best alternative and honestly… A dessert this delicious and DANGEROUSLY EASY, it should be illegal. Seriously. All you need is four ingredients and about 15 minutes. It tastes just like everyone’s favorite fireside snack, without the need for a fire pit.
I brought these to a pool party and it was the perfect handheld bite to nibble on. People took all the leftovers home. This is for sure going to be a staple.

Let’s Cook!
Ingredients
- ½ stick butter
- 10 oz mini marshmallows (standard bag size), separate ¼ cup
- 5 ½ cups Golden Grahams cereal
- 4 oz Hersheys milk chocolate (about 2 ½ standard bars)
- Pinch of salt
Directions
- Grease or line a 8×10 inch pan
- In a medium or large nonstick pot, melt the butter on medium heat
- Take about ¼ cup of marshmallows and set aside. Pour the rest into the melted butter and stir
- When most of the marshmallows have melted, add the cereal and mix until combined. Take off the heat
- Add about half of the mixture to the pan (it’s easiest to use your hands, and I like to rub a little bit of olive oil to prevent sticking). Then scatter about half of the Hershey’s chocolate around. When doing this layer, I like to break up the little rectangles in half to scatter the bites a bit better
- Layer on the rest of the cereal mix. Its ok if it gets messy. Scatter the remaining marshmallows and the chocolate bars on top. For this layer, keep the rectangles in tact.
- Wait until cooled and cut into bars.
- Enjoy!
