Ingredients

Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ¼ cup fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • cup fresh spinach chopped
  • ½ cup feta cheese crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • ¼ cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Suggested Burger Fixings

  • 4 burger buns
  • cup tzatziki sauce
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • Arugula or additional spinach
  • Sweet potato fries for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare the Patty Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped dill, parsley, spinach, crumbled feta, garlic powder, kosher salt, ground cumin, lemon pepper seasoning, and finely chopped red onion. Mix gently with your hands or a fork *just* until all ingredients are evenly incorporated, being careful not to overmix (over-mixing causes dense and dry burgers).
  • Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 equal portions, shaping each into a patty approximately ½ - 1 inch thick.
  • Cook the Patties: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the patties are golden brown. Remove from heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
  • Assemble and Serve: Toast the burger buns to your liking. Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked patty on top, followed by sliced tomato and arugula or additional spinach. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve the assembled burgers with a side of sweet potato fries or your favorite accompaniment. Enjoy!
